Saadani National Park, located in Tanzania on the country’s coast, is the only park where the Indian Ocean meets the African bush. Established in 2002, it spans approximately 1,100 square kilometers, making it one of the smaller national parks in Tanzania. Despite its size, Saadani offers a unique blend of wildlife viewing and beach experiences. Visitors can embark on game drives to spot elephants, lions, and giraffes against a backdrop of palm-fringed beaches. Boat safaris along the Wami River provide opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species, while guided walking tours offer insights into the park’s diverse ecosystems. The park’s tranquil beaches also invite relaxation and water-based activities such as swimming and snorkeling, creating a distinctive safari experience where the wilderness meets the sea.
