A travel experience like no other

Towering over Arusha National Park, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, Mt Meru, beckons adventure seekers with its majestic slopes. Reaching an elevation of 4,565 meters (14,977 ft) at Socialist Peak, Mt Meru offers a challenging yet rewarding 3-day trek that can serve as a great warm-up climb for Kilimanjaro or a standalone adventure in its own right.

Safety is paramount on your Mt Meru trek. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced armed ranger to ensure your safety while navigating the mountain’s diverse terrain. A dedicated private cook will tantalize your taste buds with delicious meals throughout the climb, and professional mountain guides will provide expert guidance and support to make your journey an unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

Day 1
Momela gate (1400 m) - Miriakamba Hut (2500 m)

Upon arrival at your reserved lodge in Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll meet your trekking crew, including porters, guides, and a chef. Your ascent begins in Arusha National Park, accompanied by an armed ranger and experienced mountain guides. The first day's hike resembles a walking safari, with chances to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and possibly elephants. You'll pass the Ngarenanyuki River and a scenic waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru.

Upon reaching Miriakamba Hut (2500m), your chef will prepare a hot dinner and provide hot water for washing. Enjoy the beautiful sunset before staying overnight.
